Maker Spaces – Matt’s Maker Space Support of Our STEAM Hub Program

Making it Happen in Maker Spaces with our Matt's Maker Space

The Education Partnership supports the ideation of partner school’s maker spaces through:

  • Workshops and lendable equipment for meeting the needs of your maker projects.
  • Consultations and hands-on workshops to integrate materials, learning kits, or specialty tools into your learning space.
  • Enhance your Engineering Design Process and align with your curriculum needs.

The Education Partnership supports the creation of partner school’s maker spaces through:

  • Facilitating the development of Maker Spaces in our schools, classrooms, and libraries.
  • Starting up a Maker Space is not a one person job and we are there to support you in this journey.
  • And no matter where you are in the pathway to maker success we can reach out to our network for sharing lessons learned and making connections with donation and funding sources.

The Education Partnership supports the collaboration of partner school’s maker spaces through:

  • Providing a connected network of STEAM Maker Spaces for sharing lessons learned and best practices.
  • Access to a network of collaborators, including Matt’s Maker Space, dedicated to serving under-resourced schools and bridging the gap to student maker-learning opportunities.

Matt’s Maker Space’s Partnership!

Matt’s Maker Space is integral for the maker space portion of The Education Partnership. As a part of the STEAM Hub program, the Matt’s Maker Space at TEP supplements the STEAM kits and STEAM professional Development that TEP distributes. We use this space to encourage and support teachers in engaging in maker activities and to help teachers bring these skills and tools into their curriculums. Our facilities include a 3D printer, Cricut, and an embroidery sewing machine. We share the how-to of projects for classroom use, encouraging the integration of maker space programs within schools.

Through partnerships with Matt’s Maker Space, Communitopia, Computer Reach, and the STEM Coding Lab, TEP is able to provide resources and workshops for teachers. They are all amazing resources for schools to extend their STEM and Maker education and showcase maker space possibilities.

The Matt’s Maker Space at TEP was made possible through a partnership with ANSYS, Inc and designed by the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and support from  HiTouch Business Services (formerly Bulldog Office Products) and HON Furniture.
