Description:

The Sphero SPRK+ is an easy programmable spherical robot. The gaming app, Sphero, is an easy way to learn about how the robot moves, the aiming, and its abilities. By using this app, the user is able to understand its speed and abilities while having fun! The game includes missions and levels to allow the user to discover new features while having fun.

The educational app, Sphero Edu, uses a block by block programming code to control what the robot does. Each block is already programmed, and the user simply has to specify the time, color, direction, etc. Since the student can come up with their own path for the robot, this is incredibly beneficial for students

Helpful Tips/Suggestions:

  • The robots lose charge relatively quickly, so ensure that everything is charged before beginning class
  • The two apps are Sphero (gaming app) and Sphero Edu (educational/programming app) 
  • Challenge students to make their Sphero robot complete an obstacle course!
